Just 45 minutes from Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Flamingo is located in Punta Salinas, 75 km southeast of Liberia, between Potrero and Brasilito Beaches.

Playa Flamingo is one of Costa Rica's principal beaches; one of the first to receive international interest. It is known as the heart of the Gold Coast of Guanacaste. With its crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and variety of activities available, Flamingo is the perfect spot to discover the magnificence of Costa Rica. The incredible views from this beach offer you the ability to enjoy unforgettable sunsets.

Thanks to great efforts to conserve the ecological purity and quality of its waters, Flamingo Beach has received the "Ecological Blue Flag".

In Flamingo, visitors can fish in one of the best places for deep sea fishing worldwide, where all year long you will find tuna, swordfish, and marlin. Playa Flamingo is the home of the Annual Sailfish Tournament, sponsored by the Costa Rican Amateur Fishing Club. Or you can scuba dive to swim alongside white sharks and admire the marvelous and impressive marine life.

This is a strategic location, near several attractions. It is only 15 minutes away from the Sea Turtle National Park, 20 minutes from well known surfing beaches such as Grande Beach and Tamarindo Beach, and 10 minutes from the famous golf course, Garra de León, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Other nearby attractions include Santa Rosa National Park, canopy tours, tours to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, as well as connections to other regions such as Arenal and Monteverde.

Flamingo has it all to offer you everything you are looking for, from water and land activities for leisure and adventure, to luxury accommodations and dining experiences. Amberes is the place for nightlife in this community. The Flamingo Marina has the largest collection of sport fishing boats in the country, as well as a gas station, and a dam with a 20 ton crane - an amazing infrastructure.

The best time to visit is from December to April, when the beaches are covered in sun and the average temperature is a round 28º C, or 82º F.
